JANET A. ARIZA
Janet A. Ariza is an experienced multi-jurisdictional litigator with a special interest in technically complex matters. Her career accomplishments include serving as the lead attorney on numerous complex matters involving labor and employment, personal injury, government liability and public entity defense, construction defect, construction contracts, professional liability, non-profit business and risk management issues, products liability and fraud defense. In addition to trying administrative cases, she has also arbitrated and mediated hundreds of matters as the first chair and has taken hundreds of depositions, including critical technical and professional expert depositions.
Janet has a valuable insurance claims and insurance coverage background as a “Large Loss” Claims Examiner, Claims Supervisor and Regional Claims Manager. Her experience includes successfully managing, training and coaching team performance on a daily basis,
while concurrently developing and implementing long-term strategic goals relative to overall company objectives.
Janet’s unique training, education and experience allow her to move seamlessly between “boots on the ground” practical, common-sense solutions in real time, while simultaneously being able to communicate and apply the most complex business and legal concepts to the overall goal. She strongly believes in team collaboration and works diligently to build effective partnerships with clients.
Janet has benefited from world-class professional leadership training through the United States Navy, GEICO, the Avis Budget Group, Macy’s and CHANEL. She also has professional media skills both as a presenter and a coach.
She graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law and is admitted to practice before the California state courts, as well as the United States District Court, Southern and Central Districts of California. She belongs to the California Lawyers Association and is a member of the Labor and Employment Law, Litigation, and Public Law sections. She is also a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. Her volunteer work has included serving as Pro Bono General Counsel to the Armed Services YMCA, working with both a local branch and National Headquarters.
